perhaps this is a cop-out answer, but i'm going to link my own blog post and an interview i did on Korea.
ultimately i left for a lot of reasons, here are a few:
as much as i enjoyed Korea and remain fond of the culture, food, history, and language, Korea is incredibly incompatible with my personal values. i guess that means i'm open-minded and tolerant.
